This course provides opportunities for students to apply appropriate theories of leadership and management and examine the characteristics of effective leaders. Students explore what it means to be a leader in today’s healthcare environment and incorporate evidence-based leadership practices in ethical decision making. The course provides review of finance, organizational structure, and budget. Students will explore effective working relationships from a system’s perspective in addition to analyzing quality and safety issues related to health outcomes. The student will examine opportunities and processes to serve as a change agent.
